Surviving her husband by only nine hours, Mrs. Catherine   McCloud died at her home on Monon St. at midnight Sunday. Her   husband, Joshua McCloud passed away at three in the afternoon.   Grip was the original cause of both deaths, the aged couple   having contracted the ailment only a short time ago. Funeral   services for both husband and wife will be held from the   Primitive Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon. Mr. McCloud suffered an   attack of the grip about a week ago. His condition was not   considered at all serious and on Sunday ate a hearty dinner.   After arising from the table, the aged man was walking about the   house when he suddenly fell over and in a few moments had died.   Paralysis of the heart caused, probably, by the attack of grip,   was responsible for his sudden demise. Mrs. McCloud had been   suffering with the grip for about two weeks but her condition was   thought to be improving. The shock of her husband's death in the   afternoon caused a change for the worse in her condition and she   sank rapidly. Asthma, together with the grip, caused her to be in   a weakened state so that the shock was too much for her. She was   born in this County April 15, 1839 and was nearly 75 years old.   Her husband, was born on Christmas Day, 1837, being 75 years of   age when he died. Mr. & Mrs. McCloud were united in marriage about 50 years ago. Three sons and five daughters survive.
